The St. Louis Area Diaper Bank, and its initiative, the Alliance for Period Supplies, has received the largest corporate gift in its history from bioMérieux, a global in vitro diagnostics leader with nearly 800 employees based in Hazelwood, through the Company’s COVID-19 Exceptional Donations program.
The Diaper Bank received a donation of $332,000 to support ongoing operating expenses for both their diaper and period supply programs to provide basic needs to families in the metro St. Louis area. They were selected for their exemplary COVID response throughout 2020, which included the emergency distribution of nearly 1 million diapers and period supplies through various partnerships with agencies across the region.
“We are overwhelmingly grateful and excited about this gift. We know our work can only be done with the support of donors, and this gift will give us the ability to continue to provide services in these uncertain times when need has never been greater in our community,” said Diaper Bank Executive Director, Muriel Smith.
