It costs about $1,000 each year to diaper a child and $478 each year to purchase period supplies for one woman or girl.
No public benefit programs allow for the purchase of diapers or period supplies
Keeping infants and toddlers clean, dry and healthy is key to building a solid foundation for all children. Inadequate menstrual hygiene has been associated with infection and poor health-related quality-of-life.
Moms who don’t have enough diapers are 3 times more likely than their peers to suffer from depression and anxiety. Every tampon = 4 hours of a more focused, present, and confident person.
Children left in soiled diapers are uncomfortable and irritable. Fussy babies are at an increased risk of child abuse.
