Our Programs
Meeting Basic Needs. Restoring Dignity. Strengthening Families.
The St. Louis Area Diaper Bank runs programs that address two essential but often overlooked needs:
Diapers and Period Supplies
We DO NOT directly distribute diapers or period supplies, but distribute through our partner organizations ONLY.
Through partnerships with local organizations, we ensure that families and individuals have the essential items they need to live with comfort, health, and dignity.
Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier St. Louis! One Diaper, One Period Product, and One Family at a Time.

Diaper Program
What?
The Diaper Program provides up to 50 free diapers per child per month to low-income families across the St. Louis region through a network of more than 70 community partners, including health clinics, shelters, child care centers, and social service agencies.
Why?
1 in 2 U.S. families struggles to afford enough diapers for their children. Without diapers, parents can’t take their child to daycare, which makes it harder to maintain work or attend school. No public assistance program covers diapers, leaving many families without options.
How?
Diapers are purchased and donated.
Volunteers count, sort, and repackage them in our warehouse.
We distribute diapers to community organizations that vary from nonprofits, schools, healthcare agencies, and our local library systems.
Partner organizations deliver the supplies directly to families in need monthly.
“These diapers helped us through a really tough time. It’s more than just supplies — it’s hope.”
— Local Parent

Period Supply Program
What?
Founded in 2020, the Period Supply Program distributed free period supplies to individuals and families through community partners. The program works to eliminate period poverty, which is the inability to afford period products, which affects millions nationwide.
Why?
1 in 4 people who menstruate in the U.S. have struggled to afford period products. When these supplies are out of reach, individuals miss work, school, and community activities, which deepens cycles of poverty and stigma. We believe everyone deserves the right to manage their period with dignity.
How?
Disposable period supplies (pads, tampons, and liners) are purchased and donated.
Volunteers assemble period kits in our warehouse. One kit covers an individual’s period for a month.
We distribute through schools, healthcare agencies, and other nonprofit organizations across the region.
“Because of these products, I didn’t have to miss class or feel ashamed. It made me feel seen.”
— Sam K., Period Kit Recipient
